She was about one month premature, and her mother thinks it was because of the stress from running away from the tsunami. She barely escaped with her husband. Photo 9: Indonesian children went back to school on the month anniversary of the tsunami. At Banda Aceh Junior High School No. 3, only 700 of the school’s 1,276 students are still alive. The government of Indonesia estimates that schools holding approximately 177,000 children have been destroyed. In Aceh Province, between 765 and 1,100 religious and state schools have been destroyed.
