Aurora – A man digging for cans discovered the body of an elderly man stuffed in a dumpster near 25th and Emporia in Aurora this morning.
Aurora police spokesperson Kathleen Walsh said police were called to the scene around 9 a.m., and found the body in the trash bin partially covered by a blanket.
In a statement, Walsh said the man was fully clothed, and his body showed no visible signs of trauma.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, and the man’s identification, if possible.
Police were unsure how long the body was there but the bin is emptied every Thursday.
Walsh said police were looking for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call 303-627-3100.
