Nicole Aish of Gunnison led wire-to-wire in winning her first 26-mile race, the USA Marathon in Minneapolis on Sunday. Aish led by two minutes at 7 miles and five minutes at 20 miles, then had to hold on to beat hometown favorite Zika Palmer by 45 seconds. Mbarak Hussein of Kenya won the men’s race.

Soccer: No. 5 Fort Lewis, No. 7 Regis win

Cole Sweetster scored first-half goals on a penalty kick and on an assist from Kieran Hall as the No. 5 Fort Lewis men defeated host St. Edward’s 2-1 in Austin, Texas.

Meghan Thompson and Chelsea Richards scored their first goals of the season as the No. 7 Regis women defeated visiting No. 21 Texas A&M-Commerce 3-1.

Reser upset at judo championships

Ryan Reser of Colorado Springs lost in the final of the men’s 73-kilogram division at the U.S. Open Judo Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to Nicholas Tritton of Canada, whom Reser had beaten each time previously, including last week at the Rendez-Vous in Canada.

Kenny Hashimoto of Northglenn claimed a bronze medal in the men’s 66-kilogram division.
