Out & about: Staying in this 15th century farmhouse with its thatched roof took us back in history. As was the custom, the living room originally housed the livestock while the family lived in the back. We drove through the lush farming landscape dotted with wind turbines to visit Bremen, Germany’s oldest harbor city. A visit to the Market Square with its medieval “Rathauskeller” is a must. One can order from a list of 500 wines served by waitresses in 17th century costumes.
