The Rapids acquired forward Cornell Glen from the Columbus Crew in exchange for defender Ritchie Kotschau.
Kotschau played 28 games in 2005 for the Rapids, accumulating 2,272 minutes on the defensive back line.
Rapids coach Fernando Clavijo said Kotschau has been a valuable asset to the team but felt “his time with us (had) come to an end.”
Clavijo said Glen is a young, explosive player with MLS experience who will provide depth at the striker position, saying, “We’re getting value and youth.” With striker Jeff Cunningham auditioning for teams in France, the addition of Glen could prove timely.
