The Colorado State athletic director’s vacancy could be filled as early as today.
“We’ll have more information tomorrow,” university spokesman Brad Bohlander said Monday. “It’s been a confidential search process.”
Several sources close to the search indicated a person had been selected Monday. Past searches at CSU have named multiple finalists before a candidate was selected.
The only name that has surfaced publicly is Toledo athletic director Michael O’Brien, who confirmed to the Toledo Blade he had been contacted after his name first appeared in The Denver Post. O’Brien, who did not return phone calls, had previously been in the running for vacancies at San Diego State and UNLV.
The search has lasted nearly two months since Mark Driscoll announced Feb. 8 he was returning to private business. Senior associate athletic director Christine Susemihl has been the Rams’ interim AD since April 3.
