Why are you running? I want to bring transportation experience, a fresh voice, and solid leadership to RTD in order to capitalize on the economic opportunity flowing from FasTracks.
What are the top three challenges facing Colorado or the institution you seek to represent?
1. How to affect a culture of mass transit on the Front Range?
2. How to effectively implement FasTracks and maximize the benefit therefrom?
3. How to balance the need for contracting efficiency, RTD’s statutory mission, and the needs of the organization and its workers?
What do you see your role will be in completing RTD’s $4.7 billion FasTracks transit expansion on time and within budget? My goal is to ensure that FasTracks is completed on time and ahead of budget similar to the results we saw with the T-REX project.
What other goals do you have for RTD? Encourage competitive contracting; ensure responsible property acquisition; ensure mass transit plays a role in the future planning and I-70; encourage system-wide wireless Internet access.
