Mexico City – A Mexican military plane crashed into the sea near the resort city of Acapulco on Saturday and rescue teams were searching for its four crew members, the Defense Department said.
The plane had been returning to a military base in the village of Pie de la Cuesta, just south of Acapulco, after a routine mission to transport troops, a department news release said.
It crashed about five miles off the coast and rescuers were searching for the four people on board, the news release said. The cause of the crash was not immediately known, it said.
