Derrick Levy, regarded by some as Wyoming’s top young wide receiver, has left the team after his freshman season, the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle reported.
Levy, a graduate of Cherry Creek High School in Greenwood Village, played in all 12 games last season, catching nine passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. His 44-yard score helped Wyoming to a 24-0 win over Colorado State on Oct. 21.
To offset his loss, Wyoming added junior-college transfer Joe Nairn, a 6-foot-1, 200-pounder from Arizona Western Community College in Yuma, Ariz.
Eagles, Rage help fill CHL all-star rosters
Colorado Eagles coach Chris Stewart on Friday filled out the Northern Conference roster for the Central Hockey League All-Star Game, selecting two Eagles players and one from the Rocky Mountain Rage, among others.
Stewart, charged with coaching the team because of the Eagles’ conference-best record, chose forwards Chris Hartsburg, Eagles, and Mark Wires, Rage, and Eagles defender Brad Williamson to participate in the game.
Colorado’s Riley Nelson, who had been selected as a starter, will be the team’s assistant captain.
The game will be played Jan. 17 in Bossier-Shreveport.
