Rain is expected in the metro area this afternoon. The National Weather Service issued a small stream flood advisory for southwestern Jefferson County and southwestern Douglas County.

A flash flood warning was issued earlier in the day for Sedgwick and Yuma counties, and a tornado warning is in effect until 6 p.m. for northeastern Colorado.

After temperatures reached into the 90s on Monday, temperatures today will remain only in the 70s. Humidity will be high.

Wednesday is expected to be slightly better, with sun and scattered clouds. Some rain will fall in the afternoon, and some heavy thunderstorms will form in the northeast counties again. Temperatures Wednesday will be about the same, in the 70s.

The rest of the week is expected to be warmer and sunny, with temperatures rising into the 80s.
