A 60-year-old man was killed when he drove a Buick Park Avenue through an intersection without stopping and crashed into tractor-trailer truck, officials said.
Rodney J. DeLong of Sterling, who was not wearing a seat belt, was killed in the accident Thursday at 3:40 p.m., said Gilbert Mares, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.
DeLong was driving his silver 1992 car west on Logan County Road 24. He failed to stop at a stop sign at an intersection with County Road 35, and struck the tractor trailer going north, Mares said.
The tractor-trailer rolled onto its left side. The driver, Cody R. Henry, 32, of Merino, was treated at Sterling Regional Medical Center for minor injuries, he said.
