Denver police are investigating the murder of a tattoo artist Wednesday night, who was working in a shop on East Colfax Avenue when he was shot by two intruders.
Police spokesman John White said two men wearing ski masks entered Mr. Tanks’s tattoo parlor on Colfax Avenue at Niagara Street around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday night and attempted to rob the people in the store.
Josh Trobaugh was shot. He was transported to Denver Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead just before 11 p.m.
Police said the two suspects are at large.
The front door of the shop is padlocked this morning, and the glass shows orange fingerprint dust used by investigators.
According to neighbors, the shop has only been open for a few months.
Ed Thomas, who owns the World Class Barber Shop next door, said the shop is named after the owner’s dog, Mr. Tank.
