Shiny Toy Guns. When this electroesque band plays the Fillmore on Saturday, opening for Yellowcard and Blue October, the only thing worth catching in their set is the single “Le Disko” (from the Motorola RAZR2 commercial) and the accompanying light show. The band’s catalog is young, but “Le Disko” is a bright jam worthy of any dance floor.

Black Moth Super Rainbow. With three Colorado shows already under their belt earlier this week, this weirdtastic collective that loves the freaky synths and eerie vocoders still has a couple more spazzy gigs here. They play tonight at the Fox Theatre in Boulder and Saturday at the Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins, both with Aesop Rock.

Dashboard Confessional. Oftentimes a band’s MySpace page gives you an idea of what their current shows are like. And after visiting Dashboard’s page, I’m a little scared. The second song on their music player is “El Scorcho,” a cover of one of Weezer’s most beloved songs. And while it’s note-for-note OK, it lacks all of the frustration that makes that song so bizarrely unique. No idea if the band will play it at the Ogden on Thursday, but if they do, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
