MISSOULA, MONT. — Cole Bergquist passed for 292 yards and a career-best four touchdowns and Lex Hilliard rushed for 112 yards and set the school’s career rushing touchdown record Saturday in Montana’s 52-7 win over Northern Colorado.

Montana (7-0, 4-0 Big Sky), ranked third in The Sports Network FCS poll, had 623 yards in total offense to 228 for Northern Colorado (0-8, 0-4). Montana, after three previous weeks of less-than-dominating wins, had dropped from the No. 1 ranking.

Hilliard’s second touchdown, a 39-yard run with 13:55 left in the fourth quarter, gave Montana a 45-0 lead and gave Hilliard the school career rushing touchdown record with 44.

Northern Colorado got its only touchdown with 9:59 remaining on a 31-yard pass from Dominic Breazeale to Clint Wright, who had three catches for 46 yards.

Mesa St. 34, Adams St. 21 GRAND JUNCTION — Mesa State turned around a 14-3 halftime deficit with 28 unanswered points in the second half for a Rocky Mountain Conference victory over Adams State at Stocker Stadium.

Mesa State (8-0, 5-0), kept pace with Chadron State (8-0, 5-0) atop the RMAC standings. Chadron was a 28-16 winner over Nebraska-Kearney on Thursday.

Philip Vigil’s 7-yard run for a TD with 4:30 remaining gave Mesa State a 31-14 lead, capping its 28-point run. Vigil also threw for two TDs in that span, a 38-yarder to Justin Murray and a 29-yard strike to Drew Bohannan.

Bobby Washington led Adams State (1-8, 1-5) with 261 yards on 13-of-26 completions.

Colorado Mines 25, Fort Lewis 22 DURANGO — Aaron Abel’s 36-yard field goal with no time left gave Colorado Mines a victory over host Fort Lewis at Ray Dennison Field.

Brandon Cumming’s 8-yard TD catch from Dave Nieman helped Fort Lewis (1-6, 1-5 RMAC) cap a 10-point rally to tie the score at 22-22 with 17 seconds remaining.

Mines’ Corey Huck returned the ensuing kickoff 40 yards and David Pesek completed a 15-yard pass to Derek Dykstra to set up Abel’s game-winner.

Colorado Mines (5-3, 4-1) kept hold of third place in the RMAC.

DePauw (Ind.) 41, Colorado College 40, 2OT COLORADO SPRINGS — Jeremiah Marks ran for five touchdowns and a school-record 211 yards in leading DePauw to a double-overtime victory over host Colorado College in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game at Washburn Field.
