DENVER—Amy Einspahr had 21 kills and two blocks to help Fleming win its first state volleyball championship Saturday night at the Denver Coliseum.
The top-seeded Wildcats, who finished with a perfect season (31-0), beat Flagler in three straight games, 25-13, 25-16, 25-10 to win the Class 1A crown.
Lynnae Cox had 9 kills, an ace, a block and 9 digs for Fleming, last year’s runner up.
Freshman Jenna Vandenbark added 8 kills, 2 aces and a block for Fleming, which is located in the northeastern corner of the state.
Flagler (23-5), the No. 5 seed, appeared in its first title match since 2002. The Eastern Plains school won state volleyball championships in 1992, ’94, ’95 and ’96.
