DENVER, CO, JAN. 6, 2006 - The 100th National Western Stock Show at the stock show complex in Denver. The 4th annual Colorado Rocky Mountain Fiddle Championships run by the Colorado Old Time Fiddlers' Association hosts dozens of fiddlers from across the region ranging in ages from five to eighty-five. Over the two-day competition, fiddlers competer for trophies, bragging rights, and thousands of dollars in prize money. The competition continues from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Beef Palace Auction Hall. The hands of legendary Dick Barrett, considered to be one of the best traditional fiddle players in the country, practices with the help of a guitar accompanyment.
