Bond was set at $500,000 Wednesday morning for the father of a 10-year-old girl killed in a shootout at their Denver apartment.
Leo “Mickey” Cisneros, 29, is being held on investigation of child abuse causing death, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and illegal possession of a handgun.
District Attorney Mitch Morrissey’s office will decide whether to file formal charges.
Cisneros did not speak in the brief court appearance attended by his wife, Amanda Salas, and other family members.
Salas declined to comment after the hearing in Denver County Court.
Auralia Cisneros was shot in the head Nov. 29 after several gunmen knocked on the door of her family’s apartment, 4711 W. Tennessee Ave.
Juvencio Hernandez, Trivi Trujillo, Joshua Rojas and Manuel Talamantes have been arrested and charged in connection with the case.
According to a coroner’s report, Auralia was holding a bag containing a green, leafy substance when she was shot.
The arrest-warrant affidavit, a document that describes the basis for the arrest, has been sealed, according to a court clerk.
