JERUSALEM — Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert held their latest summit Tuesday, with officials on both sides warning that stalling the talks could foster more violence and endanger prospects for a treaty this year.

There was no sign of prog ress in the latest round of talks.

Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said Abbas and Olmert “reviewed” the issues without reaching agreement and set another meeting in two weeks.

In clashes Tuesday, a 10- year-old boy was killed during an exchange of fire between Gaza militants and Israeli forces, Palestinians said. Earlier, Israeli soldiers killed an armed Palestinian who was approaching the border.
