The Shell station at the Del Camino Service Plaza north of Denver was robbed about 2:16 p.m. today, the Weld County Sheriff’s office reported.
Undersheriff Margie Martinez said two Latino men in the store showed a knife, robbed the store and then left headed south.
The service plaza, one of the busiest car and truck stops north of Denver, is at the intersection of Interstate 25 and Colorado 119.
Martinez said one of the suspects was wearing a maroon stocking cap, black hoodie, black pants and black tennis shoes.
It is not known at this time if the men had a car nearby and left in it.
Investigators are looking at a possible connection between the Shell station robbery and a similar incident in Longmont, Martinez said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Weld County Sheriff’s Office at 970-356-4015, ext. 2700.
