A 38-year-old Grand Junction woman was killed in a head-on crash on the Colorado River bridge on state highway 141 in Mesa County this afternoon.

Monique Vasquez was killed when her Eagle Summit station wagon collided with a Ford F-250 truck that was pulling a trailer. The truck’s driver, Darius Devries, 67, of Grand Junction was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The crash, which happened at 1:12 p.m., is still under investigation, but investigators believe the problems with the trailer caused the truck to weave into Vasquez’s lane.
