CLEVELAND—The Indians sent minor league pitcher Sean Smith to the Colorado Rockies to complete their trade for utility infielder Jamey Carroll.
The 25-year-old right-hander was 0-1 with a 4.00 ERA in four starts for the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons this year.
The Indians acquired Carroll on Dec. 8. He has appeared in 10 games this season, hitting .263 with two RBIs.
