After talking with his mother, William Mills helped design a prosthetic accessory that helps those who want to play basketball.

Mills’ Re-Bound Pro device was developed by Boulder-based Therapeutic Recreation Systems (TRS), which researches and designs prosthetics. Made out of a strong polymer material, it helps with ball handling by providing hand-, wrist- and finger-like control. It is roughly 7 1/2 inches long and weighs 6 1/2 ounces.

Tony Asnicar, vice president of manufacturing for TRS, said the company sells 50 to 60 of the prosthetics a year.
