NIWOT, Colo.—Crocs Inc., known for its lightweight colorful clogs, says the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services has accepted one of its shoe models into its diabetic shoe program.
The Niwot-based company’s Custom Cloud is one of the models offered by Crocs’ medical division.
The American Diabetes Association says type 2 diabetes is often linked to poor circulation and disease of the nerves, making foot care important to sufferers.
Crocs shares were trading at $8.37, up 36 cents, or 4.5 percent midday Thursday. Shares have traded as high as $75.21 in the last 52 weeks.
