• Clarification: The Corporate Library is an independent corporate-governance research firm, not a shareholder activist group as reported in a story Sunday on Page 1K. The firm was founded by shareholder activists Nell Minow and Robert Monks.
The same story on executive compensation mischaracterized the severance packages being given to departing CEOs of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. They were stripped of severance pay of $12.6 million but will receive 401(k) plan assets valued at $9.6 million, according to published reports.
