Not hooked on Shanahan

After suffering through most of the Denver-New England game Monday night, I’m sure glad that the Mike Shanahan-led Broncos are not playing a quality team this season such as, hmm, say, the Texas Longhorns. Maybe Mike needs to get on Craigslist and post a resume under the classification of “has-beens.”

Some defense might help

On Monday night, the Broncos’ offense cracked under the pressure of having to carry this team. One of the most underrated aspects of a football team is accountability, and the lack of defense is causing the offense to feel the necessity of performing at a very high level.

Jay Cutler is a great quarterback, but with expectations on him so high, he knows that a sputtering offense leaves the onus on him. No quarterback, no matter how great, should have to play with that kind of pressure on his shoulders. It’s time the Broncos start playing for each other.
