GOLDEN — Smoke from a prescribed burn at White Ranch Open Space Park northwest of Golden was visible today in the metro area.
Jefferson County Open Space, the Colorado State Forest Service and other fire-agency personnel are involved in the effort to reduce wildfire risk, control weeds, restore habitat and enhance native vegetation.
Some trails in the park are expected to be closed. Fire activities on about 73 acres will continue throughout the week.
