GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A man suspected of killing two people and wounding two others in Grand Junction last month doesn’t appear to have been drunk or under the influence of drugs at the time.

The Mesa County coroner’s office says toxicology tests on 22-year-old Stefan Martin-Urban showed no sign of drugs or alcohol.

Martin-Urban is suspected of killing 61-year-old Terry Fine and 60-year-old Floyce Gallagher as they were getting ready to leave on vacation with their spouses.

Gallagher’s husband, former Mesa State College President Michael Gallagher, rushed Linda Fine to the hospital in a car as the gunman continued to fire.

Martin-Urban killed himself about an hour later while being pursued by law enforcement.
