AURORA, Colo.—A second person has died from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash that occurred in Aurora almost a month ago.

Police say 87-year-old William Phipps of Aurora died Tuesday, nearly four weeks after the Dec. 3 accident. His wife, 88-year-old Gwen Phipps, died Dec. 13.

Authorities say William Phipps was eastbound in a Toyota Avalon when he stopped at a stop sign and then attempted to make a left turn, and was broadsided by a Ford Explorer.

Three people were transported to The Medical Center of Aurora. The name and condition of the driver of the Explorer weren’t released.

Sgt. Mike Woodyard says William Phipps appeared to have been at fault in the crash for failing to yield the right of way at the stop sign.

No charges have been filed.
