AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.—Matt Fairchild had two goals and one assist, leading No. 20 Air Force to a 5-1 victory over Army on Friday night.

Scott Kozlak, Derrick Burnett and Jacques Lamoureax scored one goal each for the Falcons (16-6-1, 13-3-1 Atlantic Hockey Association), while teammates Josh Frider, Brent Olson and Blake Page each had one assist.

Brett Nylander tallied two assists, and Andrew Volkening stopped 24 shots in goal for Air Force.

Marcel Alvarez scored Army’s lone goal.

Josh Kassel blocked 19 shots for the Black Knights (7-13-3, 6-8-3 AHA), while teammate Jay Clark blocked 17.

Friday night’s game was the first of a two-game series. The series continues Saturday, with faceoff at 7:05 p.m.

Army and Air Force have played 45 times since 1976. The Falcons hold a 25-18-2 lead.
