CENTENNIAL, Colo.—Two people escaped injury after the small plane they were in crashed into the runway while taking off at the Centennial airport.
Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson says the plane was 8 to 10 feet off the ground when the wind caught it and caused the plane to take a nose dive Wednesday afternoon. The airport had 40 mph gusts and sustained winds of 25-30 mph.
The single-engine aircraft remained on the runway Wednesday evening. Its landing gear was damaged.
