Opportunities for advertising and news coverage partnerships will be explored between the Boulder Camera and The Denver Post when ap assumes full ownership of the Camera later this year.
MediaNews, which owns The Post, will take over E.W. Scripps Co.’s half-ownership of the Camera and a string of other Colorado newspapers in the Prairie Mountain Publishing group as part of the closure of the Scripps-owned Rocky Mountain News.
Media News chief executive William Dean Singleton told the Camera staff Friday that he sees prospects for joint projects. Camera publisher Al Manzi said The Post, for example, could provide Denver Broncos coverage and the Camera could cover University of Colorado sports.
Manzi said there may be “slight” changes in employee benefits but that no layoffs are planned.
