COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Colorado Springs police have identified the man shot and killed outside a family fun center following a concert by rapper E-40.
Authorities say 27-year-old Michael Davis was shot early Friday in a parking lot outside Mr. Biggs in Colorado Springs. The El Paso County coroner’s office says Davis died from multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.
Davis’ death is the seventh homicide of 2009 in Colorado Springs.
Police and state troopers arrested 22-year-old Terry Gaines Jr. of Colorado Springs on suspicion of first-degree murder.
He was captured after officers pursued a vehicle that left the parking lot at a high rate of speed, stopping it on Interstate 25 by puncturing the tires with spikes.
