Denver police are looking for the driver of a car that plowed into a bicycle rider and then took off without stopping to help.

The hit-and-run traffic incident happened at about 2:20 a.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Josephine Street, Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said.

The male victim suffered serious injuries and is being treated at Denver Health Medical Center, Jackson said.

The car that hit him incurred front-end damage and is missing a headlight along with front grill and bumper parts.

The driver fled the scene “without rendering aid to the seriously injured bicyclist,” Jackson said.

Anyone with information on the hit and run or a suspect car is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP(6778).
