ASPEN, Colo.—The city of Aspen is offering businesses up to $200 each to plant flowers in front of stores and offices.
A total of $2,000 in flower money is available. That’s on top of the $18,000 the city spends each year on flower beds and hanging baskets in the downtown area.
Jeff Woods, manager of the Aspen parks and recreation department, says the city is pushing to get flowers planted within the next two weeks before a Food & Wine Magazine food festival June 19-21.
