One hundred youths from 4-H programs were sent home from the Minnesota State Fair on Thursday, state health authorities said, after several young people in a dormitory there tested positive for the new strain of flu. The departures began even as Minnesota’s commissioners of health and education took part in a scheduled hand-washing contest in the fair’s “Germ City booth,” an effort to promote awareness about ways to avoid the flu.
