LONGMONT, Colo.—The Longmont City Council may eliminate 26 vacant jobs to cut $665,000 from next year’s budget.
Two of those positions are for police patrol officers.
Council members discussed the cuts Tuesday night.
Other positions that would be eliminated include construction inspectors, administrative assistants, a park ranger, an electrician, a programmer and a building permit technician.
City finance director Jim Golden says officials have identified another $192,000 in line-item spending cuts.
