Rapids forward Conor Casey on Thursday was named to the U.S. men’s national team roster by coach Bob Bradley, for World Cup qualifying games in Central America next week.
The U.S. plays at Honduras and Costa Rica next week.
Casey is not expected to miss any MLS games for the Rapids, who are off that week. With three games remaining, the Rapids are leading the wild-card standings for a berth in the playoffs. They host New England on Saturday, before travelling to face Dallas (Oct. 17) and Salt Lake (Oct. 24) to finish the regular season.
Casey’s 15 goals this season ranks second in the MLS behind Dallas’ Jeff Cunningham.
The Rapids striker has 14 career caps for the U.S.
