PUEBLO, Colo.—Sheriff’s officials have arrested a man suspected of trying to blow up the home of a Pueblo police officer who was scheduled to testify against him.

Sheriff’s officials say 47-year-old Robert Howard Bruce was arrested Tuesday after officer Nathan Pruce noticed a propane tank in his driveway that was rigged to pump gas into his home. Bruce was arrested after failing to appear at a trial where the officer was scheduled to testify against him Tuesday.

The trial was over a case in 2007, when Pruce arrested Bruce after a report of a neighborhood prowler. Bruce was charged with misdemeanor counts of unlawful sexual contact-peeping Tom and second-degree trespassing in that case.
