A fight Tuesday at Monarch High School in Boulder County was a result of two high school students being stiffed by two alleged marijuana distributors who were fellow students, the Boulder County Sheriff’s department said today.

According to the Boulder Sheriff’s Department, they were called to Monarch High School at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday on a fight among four students.

After investigating, the deputies said the incident was the result of two of the students making arrangements last Saturday to buy marijuana in the parking lot at 1600 E. Coalton Road.

When the two arrived, one of them got out of the car and walked to a second car carrying two other Monarch High students — the marijuana distributors.

In the car were three people. They drove the would-be purchaser out of the parking lot. The victim was grabbed from behind and placed in a chokehold. He was told to hand over the money, which he did, according to investigators.

After handing over the money, he walked back to where his friend was waiting.

Tuesday morning the victim and his friend confronted the other two students and told them they wanted their money back or they would go to the police. A fight erupted and both Louisville police and the deputies were called.

Three people were arrested for second-degree kidnapping, robbery and third-degree assault. Two of the three are juveniles. The third person was identified as Jackson Kittilla, 20.
