WASHINGTON — As White House officials fended off questions about how a fame-seeking couple finessed their way into the president’s state dinner last week, the aspiring reality-TV stars themselves began trying to sell their story.
Television industry executives said Saturday that Michaele and Tareq Salahi had postponed plans for an interview Monday on CNN’s “Larry King Live” and were contacting networks to urge them to “get their bids in” for an interview.
An executive, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the network does not publicly discuss bookings, said the couple wants a payment in the mid-six figures range.
