COLORADO SPRINGS — A man whose father’s body was found in a trash can told Colorado Springs police he put his father’s body there after finding him dead in their home, according to a police affidavit.
Quinten Abeyta, 32, has not been accused in the death of 55-year-old Russell Abeyta, but he was jailed on $1,000 bail on an alleged parole violation.
According to an arrest affidavit, Quinten Abeyta previously was in prison for second-degree assault and burglary.
The affidavit says Quinten Abeyta told officers he came home Monday to find his father with his face smashed in. He told police someone else killed him.
The younger Abeyta also said he is on medication for a mental disorder. The Associated Press
