Denver Nuggets all-star point guard Chauncey Billups will not play in tonight’s game against Dallas or Monday’s game at Sacramento, in hopes that the rest will help him fully recover from his lingering left groin strain.
Billups did play the first half of Friday’s loss at Portland, but rested the the groin in the second half.
The groin has improved but is not 100 percent, so the plan is to rest during these two back-to-back games and avoid any lingering problems.
After Monday’s game, the Nuggets don’t play again until Saturday at Utah. Ty Lawson and Anthony Carter will continue to share point guard duties.
