CENTENNIAL, Colo.—A counselor has filed a lawsuit accusing Arapahoe County District Attorney Carol Chambers and one of her prosecutors of “blacklisting” her after she testified for the defense in a case last year.

But Chambers’ interim spokeswoman, Casimir Spencer, says Chambers’ office hasn’t blackballed anyone and wouldn’t blackball anyone.

Kris Newland filed her lawsuit Friday in U.S. District Court in Denver.

She alleges that after she testified for a man accused of child sexual abuse who was later acquitted, Chambers’ office told the group that directs referrals to therapists to stop sending cases to Newland. Newland’s attorney Barry Arrington says that pretty much put Newland out of business.
