SEATTLE—The first woman to win a PBA Tour title returns to competition next week in Wheat Ridge, Colo., for the first time since her historic victory.
Kelly Kulick of Union, N.J., will compete in the Bayer Don and Paula Carter Mixed Doubles.
Also competing will be Liz Johnson, who in 2005 became the first woman to bowl for a PBA Tour title. Johnson lost her bid against Tommy Jones in the 2005 Banquet Open.
Kulick and Johnson will be in a field of 32 of the best women bowlers. The women will compete for 16 spots in the match play finals, where they will be paired with the top 16 qualifiers from a field of 64 men.
Kulick became the first woman to win a PBA Tour title on Jan. 24, beating Chris Barnes in the final of the 45th Tournament of Champions in Las Vegas.
