
Denver police early Friday morning arrested a 20-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting two men in Aurora on Monday.
Steven Earl Johnston, 20, was taken into custody in Denver, said Shannon Lucy, Aurora Police Department spokeswoman. He is charged with first degree murder and aggravated robbery
Jarell Jordan Rivers, 18, of Aurora, and Paul Maurice Chatman, 28, of Denver, were shot dead Monday evening in a car that was parked at the Sommerset Gardens apartment complex near East Mississippi Avenue and South Blackhawk Street. Police said they believe Johnston and the two victims had agreed to meet and that the shooting was not random.
Johnston was arrested in the 900 block of Osceola Street in Denver. Police said they believe everyone connected with the shooting is either in custody or dead and that the public should not feel threatened.
