A man was fatally shot at a Colfax Avenue motel early Saturday morning.

The shooting happened at about 4:30 a.m. at the Carriage Motor Inn, 9201 E. Colfax Ave., according to a media release from the Aurora Police Department.

Police responding to the scene found a man “suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside one of the rooms,” police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he died later that day.

The shooter is described as white man, about 5-feet 10-inches tall and 170 pounds. He was wearing a yellow or orange shirt, blue jeans and a black beanie. He may have had a moustache, police said. The suspect fled in a dark-colored, full-sized pickup truck with running boards and a white topper or some type of rack on the back.

Anyone with information on the shooting or on a possible suspect is asked to call Det. Mark Yacano at 303 739-6090.
