RUSHVILLE, Neb.—Authorities say a Colorado pilot died in the crash of the crop-dusting plane he was flying over fields in the Nebraska Panhandle.

Deb Collins of the Nebraska State Patrol says the plane hit a power pole in a field four miles east of Rushville around 1:20 p.m. MDT on Sunday.

The pilot was pronounced dead at the scene. Collins says he was identified as 44-year-old David Bickle of Wiggins, Colo.

Collins says the Federal Aviation Administration is conducting an investigation.
