NEW CASTLE, Colo.—Three hunters missing in the Flattops Wilderness Area have been located.
The Garfield County sheriff’s office says the hunters were spotted Wednesday morning by a National Guard helicopter. Authorities were planning to evacuate the hunters and the rescue team sent in to search for them.
The three men have been missing since failing to return to their camp Saturday evening but authorities weren’t notified until Sunday. The area was hit by snow and strong winds while they were missing.
