An Army officer from Pueblo pleaded guilty today to accepting bribes for military contracts, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Denver.

Major Roderick D. Sanchez, 45, admitted accepting bribes totaling more than $200,000 in cash and merchandise, including a Rolex watch, from foreign companies seeking to do business with Army while he was a contract officer in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait between 2004 to 2007.

He faces up to 15 years in prison, $250,000 in fines and five years of supervised probation when he is sentenced on Jan. 19, according to the Justice Department.
