GREELEY — Northern Colorado couldn’t get or make any breaks Saturday against Northern Arizona.
The Bears trailed 21-7 at halftime, but had plenty of chances to get themselves back into the game before losing 21-14.
UNC (2-8, 1-6 Big Sky) twice had the ball in the final 4 minutes, but it could not put together a drive against the Lumberjacks (5-4, 3-3, 5-4) in losing its seventh in a row.

“No question, we are not happy losing,” UNC coach Scott Downing said. “But for our kids to continue to come back and battle in battle and keep playing hard and making plays, I am continually encouraged with their effort and the way they show up every Saturday.”
UNC had no first downs and 60 yards in the first quarter as the Lumberjacks raced to a 14-0 lead. Even so, the Bears finished with 301 yards of total offense, led by Dylan Orms. He completed 15-of-33 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown but also had a crucial interception in the final minutes.
